Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp, headquartered in Irvine, CA, seeks a Project Engineer - Level 3 to lead engineering for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects. The role can be remote or based in Houston, TX, with up to 30% travel and regular Monday–Friday hours.

This position collaborates with procurement, construction, permitting, and interconnection teams to ensure EPC standards are met. You will oversee technical deliverables, risk assessments, and vendor evaluations, aligning designs with NEC,

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS project engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Experience with project execution, budgeting, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, SCADA, and power system modeling tools.
• Strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects.
• Own and manage engineering deliverables and schedules across projects.
• Coordinate with procurement, construction, and permitting teams.
• Ensure designs meet NEC, IEEE, UL, NFPA, IEC standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support QA/QC reviews and risk assessments.
• Engage with utilities, EPCs, vendors to align on requirements.
