Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls to lead the Project Controls team on utility-scale solar and BESS projects from Houston. You will oversee Commercial Managers and Project Accountants, focusing on financial and contract aspects while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

You will drive risk management, change control, and cost forecasting, and you’ll travel up to 25% to job sites. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and EPC cost experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• MBA preferred or 5+ years in a related field.
• 2+ years in project management or cost control within renewable energy is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Commercial Managers and Project Accountants on Self-Perform Solar Projects.
• Collaborate with project directors, managers, and construction managers to meet objectives.
• Negotiate subcontracts with favorable terms and ensure compliance with standards.
• Identify project risks and opportunities and develop mitigation and exploitation strategies.
• Manage change orders and ensure documentation and impact assessment are accurate.
• Develop strategies to ensure contractual obligations and company policies are followed.
• Evaluate resources and subcontractor performance to align with execution plans.
• Resolve contractual disputes promptly to minimize schedule and budget impact.
• Prepare monthly executive reports with variance analysis, risk logs, and forecasts.
• Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting; support schedule development.
• Engage with clients to align expectations and communicate invoicing and cash flows.
• Ensure reporting and project management processes meet company standards.
• Travel up to 25% as required.
