Job summary

Nemetschek is seeking a Principal Performance Automation Engineer to lead performance testing across our product portfolio. You will own strategy, architecture, and tooling, and partner with engineering, DevOps, and product leadership to ensure scalable, efficient systems at production scale.

You will define benchmarks, lead deep investigations into bottlenecks, and guide improvements across teams with strong technical leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in performance/automation engineering or related fields.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Deep AWS experience for performance testing and monitoring (EC2, CloudWatch, ELB, Auto Scaling, S3).
• Strong coding skills in JS/TS/Python/C#, and building maintainable test scripts.
• Proficient with k6 for load and performance testing; CI/CD integration via GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, OpenSearch).
• Ability to translate load test results into capacity and scaling recommendations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and own long-term performance testing strategy and roadmap.
• Lead technical direction and set coding and testing standards.
• Architect and evolve load testing frameworks and environments at scale.
• Drive root-cause analysis for performance bottlenecks and optimize with teams.
• Establish benchmarks, SLOs, and regression gates in CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, product, and leadership to influence decisions.
• Own tooling platforms and dashboards for cross-team use.
• Produce data-driven reports and analyses for stakeholders.
