Job summary

Amazon Prime Air is seeking a Sr. Systems Development Engineer to oversee the development of perception systems for autonomous drones.

You will ensure safety-critical software and hardware meet Design Assurance Levels and collaborate across ML, CV, hardware teams to integrate the perception stack. You will drive verification, configuration management, and quality assurance to certify systems while enabling rapid innovation in autonomous flight.

Qualifications

• Translating business needs into detailed feature requirements.
• Experience with system architecture, optimization, and system analysis.
• Experience planning, executing, and documenting verification activities for safe system behavior.
• Experience evaluating machine-learning systems, especially in computer vision or autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex operational requirements into system and subsystem specifications for vision-based perception systems.
• Bridge perception algorithms (CV, radar, ML) with the flight control and autonomy stack.
• Create requirements docs that meet aviation certification standards while enabling rapid innovation.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, computer vision hybris, and hardware engineers to validate architectures.
• Lead technical reviews to ensure safety, performance, and reliability of perception systems.
