Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for Perception in EmbodiedAI. You will own the end-to-end ML perception pipeline, from data curation to deployment on the vehicle compute platform, enabling reliable perception of road users and scenes.

Responsibilities include building scalable training pipelines, optimizing models for embedded hardware, and collaborating with Safety and Systems teams to ensure robust real-time performance.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in CS/ML/Robotics or related field.
• 5+ years in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Perception in production.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end ML perception model lifecycle: design, training, validation, deployment.
• Develop 3D object detection/tracking for vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists.
• Real-time map detection of drivable world and multi-modal sensor fusion.
• Scale ML training infra, data mining, multi-stage training and evaluation.
• Optimize models for embedded, real-time, low-latency constraints.
• Debug performance and failures in long-tail/adversarial scenarios.
• Define robust model-level metrics and integrate outputs with Safety and Systems.
