Job summary

Synoligo Biotechnologies is seeking an experienced Peptide Chemist to lead peptide synthesis projects from design to delivery in Morrisville, NC. The role emphasizes SPPS expertise, purification, and thorough documentation in a fast-paced CRO setting.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on peptide synthesis experience, strong HPLC/LC-MS skills, and a track record of troubleshooting challenging sequences while maintaining quality data packages for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
• At least five years of hands-on peptide synthesis experience.
• Expertise in SPPS, resin selection, coupling, deprotection, cleavage.
• Experience purifying peptides by RP-HPLC.
• Ability to troubleshoot sequences and optimize methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute SPPS-based peptide synthesis for routine and complex targets.
• Evaluate sequences for feasibility and manage risks for difficult peptides.
• Purify peptides using RP-HPLC and perform analytical characterization.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare data packages for customers.
• Collaborate with analytics, QA, and operations to plan work.
• Lead and mentor junior scientists and drive continuous improvement.
