Job summary

GQR is seeking a hands-on leader to own the Workday platform, balancing configuration with strategy. You will guide a small team of three People Systems professionals and influence the roadmap in a fast-growing environment.

The role requires deep Workday experience across Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits and Compensation, with autonomy and proactive problem solving. EST-hours alignment is expected, with flexibility for US time zones.

You'll be the hands-on owner of the Workday platform, balancing day-to-day configuration with forward-looking strategy. This is a strong fit for a self-directed, ambitious systems leader who thrives in a fast-moving, technically progressive environment and wants real influence over where the platform goes next. You'll lead a team of three while staying close to the configuration yourself.

What you'll do

• Own hands-on configuration, optimization, and support across the Workday HCM ecosystem
• Lead and develop a team of three People Systems professionals
• Drive the future-state roadmap for People technology, evaluating and adopting emerging capabilities
• Partner across HR and Payroll teams to translate business needs into scalable system solutions
• Bring a build-oriented, continuous-improvement mindset to a rapidly evolving environment

What we're looking for

• Proven hands-on Workday experience — configuration depth, not just oversight
• Strong command of Core HCM, with hands-on experience across Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation highly valued
• Experience leading or mentoring a team
• A self-starter who operates well with autonomy in a fast-paced, high-growth setting
• Comfort working with modern, emerging technology and thinking several steps ahead
• Ability to work core Eastern Time hours (open to candidates in any U.S. time zone who can align to an EST schedule)
