Job summary

MGT Insurance is seeking a Senior People Operations Lead to build and own the employee experience infrastructure, ensuring HR systems, payroll, benefits, compliance, data, and lifecycle processes run reliably while leveraging AI and automation to scale.

You will partner with the Head of People, Product, and Engineering to design self‑service tools, automate workflows, and shape how humans and AI teammates collaborate as we grow. This hybrid SF role requires in‑office presence three days weekly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in People or HR Operations, with experience building scalable processes and infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience using AI, automation platforms, integrations, or scripting to improve workflows.
• Experience owning an HRIS such as Rippling, including workflows, integrations, reporting, and data integrity.
• Strong knowledge of payroll, benefits, and multi‑state employment compliance.
• Strong systems thinking and technical fluency, including partnering with Product and Engineering.
• Sound judgment in balancing automation, human involvement, and employee experience.
• Ability to work autonomously and build structure in a fast‑moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Build the systems, workflows, and infrastructure that allow People operations to scale with MGT.
• Redesign manual or fragmented processes from onboarding through offboarding, using AI and automation to make them simpler, faster, and more reliable.
• Create self-service tools, internal AI agents, and clear resources that give employees and managers timely, accurate support.
• Own and optimize our HRIS and People technology stack, including workflows, integrations, data quality, and system governance.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to shape how MGT integrates and manages AI teammates and builds effective human‑AI ways of working.
• Evaluate and implement People technology that creates capacity, improves the employee experience, and reduces unnecessary administrative work.
• Turn People data into useful, self-updating reporting on headcount, turnover, compensation, and workforce trends.
• Ensure payroll and benefits are accurate, dependable, and increasingly automated.
• Build scalable systems for multi-state compliance, required reporting, tracking, and alerts.
• Partner with Finance and Talent to maintain accurate headcount and compensation data and create a seamless path from offer through onboarding.
