Markel is hiring a Sr. People Analytics Data Analyst to join the HR Technology & Analytics team in the United States. You will design and optimize dashboards, build scalable data pipelines, and support HR reporting with Workday and Power BI.

The role emphasizes data quality, governance, and collaboration with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver insights and drive business decisions. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in data analytics, BI, HR analytics, or related field.
• Hands-on ETL workflow design using Alteryx or similar tool.
• Experience building dashboards in Power BI or similar BI tool.
• Ability to analyze data and communicate insights clearly.
• Strong data quality mindset and governance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and maintenance of dashboards in Power BI and Workday Prism.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines from Workday and external sources.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual reporting effort.
• Develop reports using Workday reporting tools for recurring and ad hoc needs.
• Lead data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting of reporting assets.
• Translate stakeholder needs into scalable data solutions with HR COEs.
• Document data rules, metrics, and lineage for governance.
