Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Sr. Sourcing Specialist, PCBA (Starshield) to own demand planning and strategic sourcing for hardware used in satellite production.

You will balance cost, quality, and lead times while scaling high-volume manufacturing and shaping suppliers to higher standards. The role requires deep experience in purchasing, PCB/PCBA components, and production purchasing, with a focus on supplier collaboration and cost management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in purchasing, procurement, material planning, production planning, supply chain management, or engineering; OR 5+ years in purchasing, procurement, material planning, production planning, supply chain management in lieu of a degree.
• Technical procurement or planning experience with PCB, PCBA, or electrical components.
• Experience in production purchasing preferred.
• Proven leadership and team-building skills.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and prioritize to meet customer and company needs.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with key suppliers to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies for existing platforms and new product development.
• Pull and aggregate the overall demand picture for hardware to enable a reliable demand signal and rate.
• Act as the supplier interface for RFIs, RFPs and RFQs.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to run the RFX process and evaluation, then apply results to sourcing decisions.
• Manage costs to meet project budgets and forecasts.
• Develop should-cost models for competitive cost analysis.
• Ensure suppliers can support prototype builds and mass production.
• Drive internal and external process improvements to save costs.
• Present value propositions to executives on contracts, cost reviews, and critical supply issues.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier partnerships; implement supplier performance analytics.
