Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Chemical Engineer, PCB (Starlink/StarMind) to lead state-of-the-art PCB production processes at the Bastrop, TX facility.

You will design environmentally friendly recycling strategies, develop scalable mass-production processes, and become a multidisciplinary expert in PCB fabrication. You will own PCB production processes from initial design to DOE-driven optimization, interfacing with senior leadership during critical design phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in chemical engineering design, analysis, and/or system implementation.
• Master's degree in an engineering discipline (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in chemical engineering design, analysis, and/or system implementation (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with PCB manufacturing processes like metal plating lines, copper etching lines, and metallization.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain PCB production processes, equipment, technologies, and facilities.
• Analyze production processes and machinery from first principles using physics-based approaches.
• Develop experiments to diagnose and correct manufacturing problems using DOE and statistical methods.
• Perform defect characterization and analysis to determine root causes and improve yields.
• Develop project plans, budgets, and cost/benefit analyses for new processes or machines.
• Lead machine activation and testing with a small team of engineers and technicians.
