Job summary

Intuit Payroll Tax Operations is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Processor to resolve notices, corrections, amendments, and pay-and-file issues with accuracy and independence. This role focuses on high-volume casework and mentoring colleagues while growing technical depth.

You will lead full-cycle tax case work across multiple states, prepare amended returns, respond to agencies, and collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams to improve processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience resolving state and federal payroll tax notices and amendments.
• Ability to prepare amended federal/state payroll tax returns.
• Familiarity with IRS/state notice types and resolutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication with agencies.

Responsibilities

• Handle full-cycle payroll tax case work from intake to closure.
• Research and resolve state and federal notices, including balance-due and deposits.
• Prepare agency responses with supporting documentation.
• Prepare amended Form 941-X and state equivalents.
• Document audit trails and support correction workflows.
• Manage WIP and SLA-based prioritization with thorough records.
• Analyze trends to identify process or system deficiencies.
• Contribute to SOPs and knowledge-base updates.
• Collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams.
