Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of hands-on payroll tax experience focused on notice resolution and amendments.
• Knowledge of IRS/state notices; read notices and determine resolution path.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c).
• Strong knowledge of FICA/FUTA and multi-state payroll tax rules.
• FPC required; CPP preferred and actively pursued.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax case work for assigned accounts with accuracy.
• Independently research and resolve complex state and federal notices.
• Prepare agency responses with supporting documentation and meet deadlines.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns (941-X and state equivalents) for complex amendments.
• Support payroll correction workflows and quantify tax impact.
• Manage personal WIP queue, prioritize SLA dates, document cases.
• Perform high-level trend analysis of customer and agency data.
• Contribute to SOP and KB updates with solutions.
• Collaborate across Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams.
