The ideal candidate has 7+ years of payroll experience, supervises a team, and is proficient with ADP and multi-state reporting. This on-site position offers growth within a collaborative payroll function.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of payroll experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with certified payroll and labor job costing.
• In-house payroll processing and reporting expertise.
• Multi-state payroll reporting across entities.
• Familiarity with payroll platforms such as ADP.
• Strong organizational skills and coaching ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, mentor, and support payroll team members.
• Establish and maintain SOPs for payroll processing, reporting, and compliance.
• Delegate responsibilities while ensuring payroll is completed accurately and on time.
• Lead payroll initiatives including system migrations, new union agreements, and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
• Handle escalated payroll matters including union issues, garnishments, and tax-related questions.
• Conduct internal audits and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze regular and ad-hoc payroll reports.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies.
• Partner with external payroll providers to support payroll administration.
