Job summary

Orange County Public Schools is seeking an experienced payroll specialist to manage complex district payroll operations. You will oversee biweekly payroll processing, retirement calculations, deductions, and related reconciliations while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has five years of accounting/finance/payroll experience, SAP proficiency, and will provide technical support and financial reporting to the Budget/Finance team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; college coursework in finance/accounting.
• Five years accounting/finance/payroll experience; two years payroll related.
• Knowledgeable in SAP system and payroll processes.

Responsibilities

• Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner.
• Approves payroll and retirement processing; ensures proper charges, deductions, and payments.
• Researches payroll issues, leave accruals and garnishments; respond to inquiries.
• Monitors payroll accuracy to ensure budget coverage; prepares financial reports.
• Performs reconciliations of payroll postings and retirement contributions.
• Provides payroll assistance for distributing expenditures and coding entries.
• Ensures compliance with federal/state regulations; supports policy implementation.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of district technology used in payroll; attends trainings.
