Job summary

ExED in Southern California seeks a Payroll and Retirement Associate to lead payroll processing for multiple charter school clients and deliver excellent service. The role focuses on accuracy, regulatory compliance, and teamwork within a 16-person payroll group.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of payroll experience, strong MS Office skills, and a commitment to public education. Salary is commensurate with experience and benefits include health, retirement, and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years payroll processing experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Upload or input payroll data for multiple client schools.
• Review and process payroll accurately and on time.
• Determine eligibility for CalSTRS and CalPERS retirement plans.
• Provide excellent customer service to client schools.
• Set up and process garnishment orders when needed.
• Coordinate with accounting and other ExED staff as required.
