Job summary

Planned Parenthood Federation of America seeks a Senior Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate, compliant bi-weekly payroll runs across multiple states. You will act as a UKG Pro/Ready SME, lead tax and data validations, and support annual year-end processes with the Payroll Manager in the Finance Department.

The role requires 4–5 years of payroll experience in complex environments, proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin or related field; FPC preferred; CPP required.
• 4–5 years of comprehensive payroll experience in high-complexity environments (multi-state, union).
• 3+ years as a Power User or SME in UKG Pro/Ready or similar ERP/payroll systems.
• Strong MS Excel and Google Sheets skills for reconciling large datasets and audit schedules.
• Experience with system implementations, testing (UAT), and API integrations between Payroll and HRIS/Benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assess complex payroll components (multi-state taxation, imputed income, union payroll, garnishments) and provide analysis to ensure compliance.
• Monitor terminations to ensure last pay laws are followed.
• Act as core UKG user; support system upgrades or integrations under Payroll Manager guidance.
• Research regulatory changes to update payroll policies and procedures.
• Prepare and reconcile data for audits (401k, financial statements).
• Perform reconciliations between payroll records and external systems (401K, tax authorities).
• Provide QA/QC on payroll data prepared by the Payroll Specialist for review and approval.
• Support high-stakes projects including year-end activities, W-2 issuance, and system updates.
• Review quarterly tax packets (941s) and suggest payroll system updates for compliance.
• Respond to unemployment claims and other duties as assigned.
