Job summary

Republic Services is recruiting a Senior Manager of Payroll to lead compliance, configuration testing, and process improvements across union and non-union payroll operations. The role partners with HR, Total Rewards, and cross-functional teams to optimize efficiency and control frameworks.

The position reports to Payroll leadership and requires expertise in GAAP/SOX, large-scale payroll processing, and systems like Workday or ADP.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive payroll leadership in a large organization.
• Experience with union payroll considerations and multiple CBAs.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and SOX controls applicable to payroll.
• Experience with Workday Time/Absence and Payroll processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll compliance across union contracts and large workforce.
• Lead testing of configuration changes and data management for payroll systems.
• Collaborate with HR, Total Rewards, and Payroll Directors to align processes with goals.
• Develop internal controls to protect company assets and ensure accuracy.
• Manage quarterly team meetings and staff development.
