Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to own the payroll function end to end: running payroll accurately and on time today, and building the process, controls, and systems discipline that will hold up a two to three times the current headcount.

Panelmatic is scaling rapidly across multiple sites with payroll complexity growing due to multi-state operations and a planned HRIS implementation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state ownership.
• Hands-on experience running multi-state payroll in-house.
• Experience building or rebuilding payroll processes, not just running existing ones.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state wage and hour law, payroll tax, and garnishment administration.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll processing for 1000+ employees across multiple states and sites.
• Serve as primary payroll contact for employees, managers, and Finance; manage resolutions.
• Own payroll compliance including tax registrations, filings, and year-end processing.
• Collaborate with Finance on payroll funding, GL mapping, accruals, and month-end close.
• Document payroll processes and build a repeatable payroll calendar and controls.
