Job summary

Markent Personnel seeks a Payroll Manager to lead accurate, timely payroll for 750+ hourly and salaried employees across multiple sites and jurisdictions. This hands-on role supervises a payroll specialist and partners with HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve issues, ensure compliance, and drive efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in payroll, 2+ years of supervisory experience, and strong ADP Workforce Now and HRIS skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including responsibility for complex, multi-state payroll operations.
2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll, HRIS, and timekeeping systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee end-to-end multi-site payroll for 750+ employees across states and jurisdictions.
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, OT, bonuses, route pay, and deductions.
Review payroll batches in ADP and ensure GL accuracy.
Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.
Lead payroll system upgrades, testing, and process improvements.
Prepare payroll accruals and support month-end/year-end close.
Collaborate with Accounting/Finance on reconciliations and reporting.
