Job summary

Third Road Management is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee payroll processing for a portfolio of clients and lead a team of Payroll Specialists. You will ensure accurate, timely payroll operations across diverse industries while staying current on evolving regulations.

The role emphasizes client relationships, regulatory compliance, and process optimization, with flexible remote work options and broad exposure to payroll platforms and accounting systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years payroll experience across multiple states.
• Strong understanding of wage and hour laws and payroll taxes.
• Proficiency with major payroll platforms and accounting systems.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR or related field.
• CPP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage payroll processing for multiple clients on a recurring basis (weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly).
• Act as the primary point of contact for client payroll matters and build relationships with client leadership.
• Maintain payroll schedules, pay rates, PTO accruals, deductions, and benefits contributions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and best practices.
• Prepare and file payroll tax reports and year-end reporting requirements.
• Mentor payroll specialists and review work for accuracy.
