Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision in Payments: Calculate and review wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions, with a keen eye on state-specific tax considerations.
  • Compliance Champion: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Leadership Excellence: Lead and mentor a team of three payroll professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Workflow Wizard: Coordinate team workflows and manage task delegation to meet payroll deadlines and swiftly address any issues.
  • Collaborative Culture: Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment within the payroll team.
  • Stay Informed: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and regulatory changes in all states where the company operates.
  • Audit Ace: Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with payroll policies and regulations.
  • System Savvy: Oversee the payroll system, ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
  • Process Pro: Implement and monitor payroll processes and procedures to streamline operations and enhance accuracy.

What We're Looking For:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in payroll management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Multi-State Mastery: Proven experience handling multi-state payroll, with a deep understanding of varying state regulations and tax laws.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax laws, and best practices.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Detail-Oriented: A commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Certification: Certification in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)) is preferred.
