Plastipak seeks a Payroll Manager to lead and develop a payroll team across multiple locations in the U.S. You will oversee end-to-end payroll processing, maintain controls, resolve discrepancies, and partner with Accounting and ADP for tax filings. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize payroll systems (SAP, UKG, ADP, Workday) and ensure timely, accurate payroll for ~4,000 employees across sites.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of multi-state payroll processing experience.
• Minimum 5 years managing a payroll team with coaching and motivation.
• Deep expertise in payroll operations: employment tax, wage garnishments, labor reporting, regulatory compliance.
• Thorough knowledge of payroll technologies (SAP, UKG, ADP, Workday) and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and engage the Payroll team with coaching to enhance skills.
• Oversee payroll processing, policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Resolve discrepancies and escalated issues promptly.
• Manage tax filings/payments/issues with internal teams and ADP.
• Support GL reconciliation and payroll transactions with Accounting.
• Deploy controls, reporting and audit procedures for compliance.
• Collaborate to optimize payroll technology systems and lead initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with government payroll regulations and reporting.
• Engage with industry to stay current on trends and regulatory changes.
