Job summary

Willdan Group, Inc. seeks a Senior Payroll Manager to lead the payroll function for a complex, multi-state organization. You will oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensure compliance, and drive process improvements across systems and controls.

The role requires extensive ADP experience, multi-state payroll knowledge, and strong leadership to mentor a growing payroll team and support acquisitions and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including complex, multi-state operations.
• 3+ years of payroll leadership or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll, tax, and wage-and-hour requirements.
• Experience with ADP payroll systems; ADP Workforce Now and Deltek Costpoint ERP preferred.
• Public company, SOX, and internal control experience.
• Experience supporting audits.
• CPP designation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a complex, multi-state and multi-entity population.
• Oversee payroll operations, compliance, systems, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Lead payroll integration activities for acquisitions and new entities.
• Develop and mentor the payroll team with clear roles and performance expectations.
• Maintain confidential payroll records and support SOX controls.
• Assist audits with payroll reconciliations and documentation.
