Job summary

Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to oversee end-to-end payroll for multiple entities and pay cycles. You will lead payroll staff, ensure accurate processing, and maintain strict compliance with wage, tax, and record-keeping requirements.

The role requires strong knowledge of payroll systems (UKG, Sage 300/Timberline, Intacct), and experience with SCA, DBA, prevailing wage, and union payroll. Alaska-based, collaborative, and process-improvement focused.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience including leadership responsibility.
• Experience in multi-entity and multi-state payroll environments.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, taxation, compliance, and reconciliations.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with payroll and financial systems (e.g. UKG, Sage 300/Timberline, Intacct).
• Experience with SCA, DBA, prevailing wage, and/or Union payroll.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end payroll function across all entities and pay cycles.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately, timely, and compliant with policies.
• Supervise payroll staff and review work for accuracy.
• Review payroll before final processing (wages, overtime, leave, deductions).
• Oversee timekeeping data accuracy and resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with wage, tax, and record-keeping laws.
• Oversee payroll taxes, filings, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with Accounting to record payroll expenses accurately.
• Maintain payroll system configurations and access controls.
• Develop and enforce payroll policies and internal controls.
