Job summary

Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) Arctic Operations & Development seeks a Payroll Supervisor to oversee payroll operations for accurate, timely, and compliant processing across entities. You will lead the payroll team, manage systems, controls, and reporting, and serve as the primary resource for payroll compliance and data integrity.

The role involves supervising staff, ensuring adherence to wage laws, processing taxes, and coordinating with Accounting for accurate financial recording.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive payroll experience with leadership responsibility.
• Experience in multi-entity and multi-state payroll environments.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, taxation, compliance, and reconciliations.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with payroll and financial systems (e.g. UKG, SAGE 300/Timberline, Intacct).
• Experience with SCA, DBA, prevailing wage, and/or Union payroll.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll function across all companies, employee groups, and pay cycles.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in accordance with company policies and schedules.
• Supervise, train, and direct Payroll staff; establish priorities and review work for accuracy.
• Review and approve payroll prior to final processing, including wages, overtime, leave, bonuses, deductions, and reimbursements.
• Review payroll adjustments, corrections, off-cycle payrolls, and final payments for accuracy.
