Carlsbad Municipal Schools seeks a Comptroller to manage the District's accounting functions for Payroll, Benefits, Budget, and Special Fund Accounting. You will supervise a finance team and ensure accurate, timely reporting while upholding internal controls and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities include payroll processing for 950+ employees, benefits administration, and coordinating annual open enrollment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business, or NM SBO Level 2 license.
• At least 5 years managing a finance/accounting unit with staff supervision.
• Experience with financial software and web platforms; InfiniteVisions preferred.
• Ability to interpret regulations and maintain internal controls.
• Professional conduct when interacting with employees, customers and the public.

Responsabilités

• Oversee semi-monthly payroll for 950+ employees.
• Lead daily payroll operations and workflow to ensure accuracy.
• Manage employee benefits operations and enrollment.
• Process hires, transfers, salary changes and terminations.
• Reconcile payroll journals and ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate new employee orientation and annual enrollment.
• Audit payroll documents for compliance and posting.
• Maintain tax tables and benefit cost-share calculations.
• Manage payroll data in InfiniteVisions and ensure accuracy.
• Meet deadlines in a heavy workload.
