Job summary

Calbright College seeks a Controller to lead and oversee the College’s accounting and payroll functions, including general ledger, A/P, A/R, and cash management. The role reports to the CFO and supervises the Finance staff, guiding internal controls and financial reporting across the organization.

The position requires strong problem solving, communication, and leadership in a remote-capable, California-wide environment, with knowledge of GASB and GAAP principles and audit coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• Five to seven years of increasingly responsible accounting, budgeting, and/or finance experience.
• Experience in payroll accounting, processing, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations including GL, A/P, A/R, payroll, cash management, month-end and year-end close.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare fiscal reports for agencies.
