Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
• At least five years of payroll processing experience is required.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
• Experience processing payroll for union-represented workers is a strong plus.
• Solid knowledge of employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, disability, 401k) is required.
• Expert-level knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act and payroll compliance is crucial.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll runs for US based employees.
• Reconcile payroll registers and validate reports before payment is initiated.
• Maintain payroll records and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with pay provisions per company policy and labor agreements.
• Provide reports to finance and audit; explain variations and identify discrepancies.
• Advise managers and supervisors on payroll processing, tax laws, garnishments, and system issues.
• Work with payroll processor to respond to escalated employee inquiries.
• Serve as the primary internal contact for benefits plans (401k, medical, dental, vision, life, disability).
• Monitor changes and developments related to benefits and compliance.
• Assist with other HR tasks such as employee relations, training, and recruiting.
