Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to assist with the preparation and processing of multi-state payroll for a large employee population. The role supports payroll operations, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and partners cross-functionally to drive improvements and system enhancements.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of multi-state payroll tax experience.
• 5–7 years payroll processing experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of US federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Experience with year-end processes, process improvements, and automation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the processing and payment of regular and off-cycle payrolls
• Review and approve employee data changes to ensure accurate reporting and processing
• Participate in payroll system enhancement projects, including automation initiatives
• Process employment verifications for current and former employees
• Support file generation and troubleshooting for 401(k), HSA, and other benefit plans; coordinate with third-party vendors to resolve issues
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries
• Audit and reconcile data feeds to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Research and resolve complex payroll issues and help implement processes to mitigate risk
