MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Payroll Accountant to join our team in Herndon VA. This position requires it to be on site at least 3 days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field with 5+ years payroll experience in government contracting.
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing and garnishments.
• Proficient in Deltek Costpoint and/or Workday Payroll.
• Advanced Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for payroll inquiries and guidance on company policies and timekeeping.
• Manage garnishment processes, including Workday setups and vendor coordination.
• Oversee on-site payroll data handling and full-cycle processing backup.
• Validate employee lifecycle events and final pay processing per state rules.
• Support labor distribution reconciliations and ADP invoicing and reporting.
• Develop payroll documentation, implement process improvements, and test new tech.
• Train and support junior staff across payroll, tax filings, and special projects.
