Technology Service Corporation (FALCATA) is seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant in Virginia to manage semi-monthly payroll processing, timekeeping, onboarding, and tax compliance. The role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, DCAA, and CAS, supporting direct and indirect labor allocations on government contracts.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in payroll, experience with ADP and Deltek Costpoint, and strong Excel/data-analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of payroll experience including multi-state.
• Experience with semi-monthly payroll processing.
• Hands-on experience with ADP and Deltek Costpoint or comparable payroll/ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements.
• Experience with timekeeping, timecard review, payroll reconciliations, and payroll controls.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting and general ledger reconciliation.
• Strong Excel and data-analysis skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of confidentiality and integrity when handling employee compensation and personal information.

Responsibilities

• Semimonthly Payroll Processing using ADP and Deltek Costpoint and reporting.
• Review timecards for completeness and accuracy and ensure proper approvals per policy.
• Coordinate deadlines with HR, Accounting, managers, and employees.
• Process payroll adjustments, retroactive payments, and special payroll transactions.
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts and reports across systems.
• Administer timekeeping procedures and resolve issues affecting Government contracts.
• Assist with new employee setup in ADP and Costpoint and onboarding related to payroll.
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax requirements and government contracting labor charging rules.
• Maintain payroll documentation and internal controls; support audits.
