Boeing North Charleston, SC is seeking an experienced Payloads Design Engineer to support the SIT and work with the Payloads and Interiors Design Center in South Carolina. The role focuses on developing and validating interior seating concepts for the Boeing 787/jet programs and coordinating with internal teams and suppliers.

You will collaborate with the Prime SIT Engineering, Electrical, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet regulatory and Boeing standards while delivering

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years of design engineering experience in airplane interiors.
• 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with IVT, CATIA, ENOVIA/PDM, ETAC, and SDT tools.
• Knowledge of FAR/SAE requirements for 16g seats and aircraft interiors.
• Experience with CARs and Engineering Change processes.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Aufgaben

• Demonstrates knowledge of SIT processes, program plans, policies, procedures, and products to fulfill responsibilities.
• Acts as a liaison between SIT Team, BSC Factory, and Suppliers to resolve issues.
• Assists in review and approval of supplier data and documents to ensure FAA compliance.
• Verifies supplier designs meet Boeing specifications.
• Coordinates with certification specialists to ensure proper documentation before aircraft delivery.
• Leads process improvement initiatives with suppliers for seat installation, certification, and rework.
• Facilitates communication to resolve discrepancies or misinterpretations between Boeing Engineering, Suppliers, and airline representatives.
• Collects, organizes, synthesizes, analyzes data; summarizes findings; and develops conclusions and recommendations.
• Maintains coordination with other engineering teams, external suppliers, and supplier management.
