Job summary

The Boeing Company in South Carolina is seeking an Experienced or Senior Interiors Payloads Support Engineer to provide M&P engineering support to the 787 Program and Interiors Responsibility Center in North Charleston/Ladson.

This role requires knowledge of interiors materials and processes, including composites, metals, finishes, and fasteners. You will review drawings, support production, and develop tests while traveling up to 10–15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
• Experience supporting the production system
• Experience with composites, metals, finishes, or fasteners
• 5+ years in an engineering or manufacturing environment
• 5+ years interpreting drawings or specifications

Responsibilities

• Support design engineers in material and process definition for Interiors components and flight deck structures.
• Review drawings/specs to ensure material/process compliance.
• Understand requirements to support material/process design, production, and fleet support.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams to evaluate information affecting design, production, and support.
• Ongoing training to learn Boeing systems, requirements, and materials technology.
• Develop tests to qualify tools, equipment, materials, and processes.
• Qualify suppliers per requirements.
• Integrate new materials and processes as appropriate.
• Analyze failures to determine performance causes.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Use project management tools to meet cost, technical and schedule goals.
• Apply EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles to materials, processes, and work procedures.
• Promote Safety and First Pass Quality mindset.
• Encourage Boeing values in the team
