Rutgers University is seeking a Senior Financial Coordinator for the Infectious Diseases Practice of the New Jersey Medical School within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS). The role focuses on assessing patients' insurance status, eligibility, and financial needs to remove barriers to healthcare access and to guide patients through obtaining and maintaining health coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business, Finance or Accounting with 3 years related experience.
• Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial payers reimbursement negotiations.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access; strong communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Assess patients' insurance coverage and financial needs to identify barriers.
• Assist uninsured patients in obtaining health insurance coverage.
• Educate patients on benefits, eligibility, obligations, copayments.
• Verify eligibility and obtain prior authorizations for services.
• Submit applications for financial assistance and PAPs.
• Liaise with patients, providers, pharmacies, insurers, manufacturers, and agencies.
• Document encounters and benefits counseling in EMR (Epic) and databases.
