Job summary

Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) in Newark, NJ, seeks a Financial Assistance Advisor to manage patient registrations for ambulatory programs and ensure accurate entry into the revenue cycle system. You will determine charity care eligibility, forward packages for medical records, and maintain complete patient documentation.

The role requires 2–3 years of clerical experience in a healthcare setting, strong data entry skills, and familiarity with medical terminology.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years progressively more responsible clerical experience, with at least 1 year in physician's office, hospital billing, or medical insurance activities.

Responsibilities

• Interviews and registers patients into the revenue cycle system.
• Forwards patients' registration packages to Clinical Records to complete Medical Records folder.
• Determines eligibility for Charity Care per NJ policies and UBHC policy.
• Enters completed insurance data into revenue cycle system.
• Tracks and documents registration and benefits information.
• Records HIPAA restrictions and actions on accounts.
• Prints and prepares daily Intake reports and IPMS-related documents.
