Job summary

UPMC Passavant is seeking a Part-Time Patient and Family Concierge, Senior to support the Medical Stepdown Unit with administrative and frontline patient experience tasks. The role combines clerical duties, patient transport coordination, and bedside support to enhance care delivery.

You will handle phones, admissions/discharges, coordinate tests and transports, maintain charts, greet visitors, assist with directions, and ensure cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of experience as a Patient & Family Concierge or equivalent.
• Strong desire to deliver exceptional patient experience.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Completion of 1 annual contribution to hospital activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional behavior.

Responsibilities

• Handle department administrative tasks: phones, transfers, reports, physician orders, mail.
• Coordinate patient tests, procedures and transports; manage equipment.
• Build and maintain patient charts; complete admissions and discharges.
• Update bedboards; place work orders; contact Biotronics for issues.
• Greet hospital guests and provide directions.
• Safely transport patients and supplies; ensure cleanliness.
• Maintain inventory and stock areas.
• Respond to call lights; distribute care plans.
• Follow system-wide competencies/behaviors.
