Job summary

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated PCT I competency with 800 hours and 6 months of PCT I experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork and patient interaction.
• Good problem-solving abilities and calm under stress.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN about patient observations.
• Constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Maintain a safe environment and assist in de-escalation and restraints per policy.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and mobility.
• Handle moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients safely.
• Take and record vital signs and measure patient weights/heights.
• Perform EKGs, POC tests and bladder scanning; collect specimens.
• Assist with treatments; prepare equipment and supplies.
• Monitor intake and tube feeding; document outputs.
• Provide respectful, culturally appropriate communication and precept new staff.
