Job summary

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of billing/insurance experience.
• Proficient with payer portals and benefits.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

• Analyze accounts receivable and perform complex billing tasks.
• Obtain authorizations from carriers via phone, fax, or online.
• Review charges in OPIE and bill via MiChart with accuracy.
• Resolve insurance issues to minimize denials.
• Educate patients on insurance/billing details and collect payments.
• Coordinate with Revenue Cycle and clinicians for proper coding.
• Conduct monthly WIP review meetings with clinicians.
• Maintain regular communication with patients, physicians and payors.
