Job summary

Americare is seeking a Senior Patient Accounts Coordinator to oversee claims processing, ensure timely submissions, and lead the department when the VP is unavailable. You will handle Medicaid/Medicare billing, denials follow-up, and maintain billing procedures with accuracy and urgency.

The role requires 3–4 years of relevant experience, HS diploma (associate degree a plus), and strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate degree a plus.
• 3–4 years of recent work experience in a patient accounts role.
• Highly organized with ability to track workflows via AR reports and worklists.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to handle high volumes, balance priorities, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Print claims and input information in billing systems (QCARE, OMNIPRO, FSS).
• Submit billing to Medicaid and Medicare; perform billing adjustments.
• Verify and match claims with authorizations; mail claims timely.
• Follow up on denials or escalate to Collections as needed.
• Prepare billing folders and assist with monthly AR reports.
• Demonstrate leadership in the absence of the manager; support VP as needed.
• Create and maintain billing procedures and documentation.
• Perform other senior-level duties and assist with ad-hoc tasks.
