Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System Southlake Campus seeks a Patient Accounting Manager to oversee the Patient Accounting Team within the Patient Financial Services Department. You will identify trends, analyze reports, and drive process improvements to optimize reimbursements while managing daily operations in areas such as insurance follow up, denials management, and patient customer service.

This role requires 5+ years in payment posting/claims with 3+ years in a lead role; an Associate's

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in payment posting, claims, denials, health care customer service, insurance processing, billing or collections.
• Associates Degree or active enrollment with completion expected within 1 year.
• Epic training completed within 6 months of hire for Epic users.
• 3+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within Patient Financial Services in one of the specified areas.
• Provide leadership presence and model expected behaviors.
• Review daily work queue, prioritize workload, and optimize resource use.
• Manage operational and staffing budgets for the area.
• Lead HR functions: interviewing, orientation, training, performance reviews.
• Ensure policy adherence and staff education on changes.
• Produce regular department reports and monitor payer trends.
