Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Sr Patient Access Associate for the Omaha campus to join our Access Services team. You will handle patient intake, schedule management, and insurance verification with a focus on accuracy and courteous service.

The role requires strong communication, 2+ years of customer service, and a proactive, team-oriented approach. Training includes full-time onboarding and a 40-hour work week with Saturday-Tuesday shifts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years customer service experience required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work in a proactive self-directed manner required.
  • Multi-tasking and problem solving abilities required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with detail-oriented work required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain working relationships within the organization to foster a team environment required.
  • Ability to type 35 wpm with 95% accuracy rating required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire or transfer date required; must be from an American Heart Association endorsed program.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients professionally and ensure accounts are created accurately to optimize cash flow.
  • Handle scheduling, pre-registration/pre-admission, registration/admission, insurance verification, receipting of payments, and patient way finding/escorting.
  • Provide face-to-face and bedside patient contact; support coverage across departments as needed.
