Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners in Greenville, SC seeks a Senior Patient Access Specialist to perform admitting duties for all patients. The role includes training, scheduling, and senior-level responsibilities within our revenue cycle operations.

You will ensure accurate MRN assignments, verify insurance, and support POS processes while delivering excellent customer service. Qualifications include an Associate degree or equivalent experience and 1–3 years in revenue cycle roles.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments, and denials.
• Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance process for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification.
• Knowledge of Health Insurance requirements.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes.
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate MRNs and perform medical necessity or compliance checks.
• Provide patient instructions and collect insurance information.
• Process physician orders using overlay tool with excellent customer service.
• Operate telephone switchboard for calls and messages.
• Develop training materials for new hires and ongoing staff education.
• Coordinate staff schedules within the patient access department.
• Participate in on-call coverage and after-hours support.
