Job summary

University Health in San Antonio, TX seeks a Senior Patient Access Manager to oversee daily Patient Access operations and act as a liaison among clinics, ancillary departments and the hospital. This role focuses on integrating services, developing policies, and driving performance improvements.

The ideal candidate has a strong Revenue Cycle background, leadership experience, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment to support budgeting and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; in lieu of degree minimum 7 years Revenue Cycle with 5 years in management.
• Working knowledge of insurance, third party payor options, hospital admissions, billing processes for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Knowledge of legal and technical aspects of registration and third party insurances.
• Knowledge of electronic insurance verification systems and work drivers.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high pressure or changing environment and exercise good judgment in absence of formalized procedures.
• Self-starter and ability to work independently.
• Prior leadership experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of all Patient Access functions.
• Serve as liaison between clinics, ancillary departments and the hospital facility.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to guide services.
• Assess and improve department performance and metrics.
• Ensure orientation and continuing education of departmental staff.
• Assist in preparation and administration of departmental budget.
• Lead projects and strategies to attain and exceed established departmental goals and metrics.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration

7+ years Revenue Cycle experience with 5 years in management

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Self-starter and ability to work independently

Prior leadership experience
