Job summary

Children's Health in Dallas is seeking a Sr Paramedic for a PRN 16-week assignment in the ERC department. This on-site role requires commitment to a rotating 3:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-3:00am, or 7:00pm-7:00am schedule to cover seasonal surges.

The Sr. Paramedic will provide BLS/ALS care under physician supervision, document care in the EMR, administer medications, support patient and family care, and help mentor new staff during surge periods.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required.
• Texas EMT-P or Texas LP licensure required.
• PALS and ACLS certifications required or readily obtainable.
• BTLS, ITLS or PHTLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform BLS and advanced skills including IV access and suctioning.
• Initiate ALS life-saving skills and assist with chest compressions.
• Document patient care in the EMR per hospital guidelines.
• Administer medications per physician order or protocol.
• Support family-centered care and patient experience.
• Assist in training new staff and provide feedback to leadership.
• Transport patients to procedures per hospital policy.
• Support stabilization of critically ill pediatric patients as needed.
