Job summary

Iredell County EMS is seeking a Paramedic to operate on an ambulance or rapid-response vehicle, delivering advanced emergency care and transport to facilities. You will act as Medic in charge as needed, directing care and supervising EMTs while applying ALS protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; demonstrated EMS proficiency at Paramedic level.
• Paramedic certification by NC Office of EMS required; must obtain within 6 months if not current.
• AHA CPR-Provider certification required; additional certifications (ICS/NIMS/HazMat) preferred within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls in an ambulance or quick response vehicle per ALS protocols.
• Serve as Medic in charge, directing care and supervising EMTs/Advanced EMTs.
• Perform advanced life support procedures including defibrillation, cardioversion, and airway management.
• Assess patients, perform CPR, oxygen therapy, hemorrhage control, and trauma care.
• Transport patients to facilities and document care for billing and legal purposes.
• Maintain and inspect EMS vehicles and equipment; ensure readiness and sanitation.
• Provide training and mentoring to newer staff; participate in ongoing professional development.
