Job summary

United Wholesale Mortgage is seeking a Senior Paralegal - Litigation to provide litigation support, legal analysis, and guidance on loan-level matters, regulatory compliance, and business disputes. This on-site role in Pontiac collaborates with internal teams and outside counsel to manage risk and advise leadership.

You will assist with case management, discovery, and drafting, while coordinating with outside counsel and ensuring regulatory compliance across states and federal requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate required.
  • Experience supporting litigation, legal research, and legal document drafting preferred.
  • Familiarity with mortgage banking, consumer finance, servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy, or financial services laws is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical legal guidance to business leaders and internal departments on legal and compliance matters.
  • Assist in responding to regulatory examinations, audits, investigations, and consumer complaints.

Job description

The Senior Paralegal - Litigation, provides litigation support, legal analysis, and guidance on loan-level matters, regulatory compliance issues, and business disputes. This role works closely with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to manage legal risk, support active litigation, and provide practical legal advice to the business.

This role requires 100% onsite attendance in our Pontiac office.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Assist with the management of litigation matters, including gathering facts, reviewing pleadings, discovery responses, and legal correspondence
  • Support loan-level legal issues involving origination, servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy, consumer complaints, and regulatory inquiries
