Join the Commercial Litigation team to work with and support attorneys and leadership on employment-related litigation, claims, and related issues. This role will provide support in developing litigation strategies, assisting in-house and outside counsel with discovery and general case management, and reducing costs. The Senior Paralegal will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and play an important role in mitigating corporate risk by ensuring consistent implementation of company policies and practices.
You will report to a Senior Lead Counsel of the Commercial Litigation team and work collaboratively with employment-focused attorneys and paralegals.
Providing support to attorneys and legal staff by managing legal processes; receiving and reviewing legal discovery, budgeting and general case information; and collecting, entering and maintaining legal information in various legal systems.
Coordinating with outside counsel, witnesses, and internal subject matter experts; providing status updates on legal processes and responding to questions about legal matters.
Helping maintain, operationalize, and update standard operating procedures and best practices on various legal processes including legal discovery, systems, and access.
Demonstrating and maintaining appropriate knowledge of general legal issues and specific specialty areas you will support on a regular basis as part of the commercial litigation team.
Ensuring attorneys are aware of pending deadlines; assisting with budgeting/invoice review.
Assisting attorneys as appropriate with research and analysis and helping determine relevant facts and discovery to support legal arguments; helping attorneys ensure legal documents comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Distributing legal holds and document retention notices.
Assisting attorneys with conducting custodial interviews; drafting legal documents for responses to stakeholders on behalf of and in consultation with attorneys.
Adhering to standard discovery procedures, quality assurance requirements, and operational systems; collaborating with eDiscovery resources to manage ESI strategy and contain costs.
Maintaining security and confidentiality of sensitive information, data and communications.
You have experience with employment litigation or related litigated matters.
You are comfortable with technology and how to leverage tools to improve processes.
You are organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
You are process-minded and look for opportunities to streamline for efficiency.
You have strong communication skills to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders.
You have experience working with cross-functional teams.
A nationally recognized paralegal certification or an ABA-accredited paralegal degree AND 2 years’ experience as a paralegal, legal analyst, or otherwise performing the responsibilities of a paralegal as defined by Walmart’s job description OR 3 years’ experience as a paralegal, legal analyst, or otherwise performing the responsibilities of a paralegal as defined by Walmart’s job description OR a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00-$63.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
