Job summary

Amgen in the United States is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to support packaging operations within a GMP environment, partnering with manufacturing teams to ensure reliable and compliant packaging processes and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, lifecycle management of packaging systems, mentoring junior engineers, and close collaboration with QA, Regulatory, and Supply Chain to maintain product supply and quality.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Engineering, Materials Science or Industrial Design.
• Masters with 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Bachelor's with 4 years of experience in engineering/materials design.
• Associates with 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
• High school diploma with 10 years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-floor technical support for packaging operations and issue resolution.
• Investigate deviations and CAPAs with root-cause analysis.
• Enhance line performance by identifying improvements to reduce downtime and waste.
• Qualify packaging materials for commercial manufacturing and manage changes.
• Develop test protocols and documentation for material and process changes.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, QA, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Regulatory teams.
• Manage multiple activities to meet production schedules.
