Job summary

Mattel is seeking a Sr Packaging Designer to shape the visual identity of world-renowned games and entertainment brands, from concept sketches to final production. You will create packaging, games content, and assets that connect with consumers and tell a compelling brand story.

You'll collaborate with Marketing, Product Design, Engineering, Copywriting, and Asia teams to bring innovative ideas to life, presenting concepts to leadership, directing photography, building 3D mockups, and refining

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in packaging, graphic, or consumer product design.
• Degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Exceptional visual design skills with a strong portfolio demonstrating packaging and brand storytelling.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Experience with 3D visualization tools such as Adobe Dimension, Blender, or similar.
• Strong understanding of typography, color, composition, and consumer-focused design.
• Ability to balance creativity with production requirements and business objectives.
• Comfortable presenting ideas and receiving constructive feedback in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Curiosity about trends in design, gaming, entertainment, culture, and retail.
• Passion for creating memorable experiences for consumers through thoughtful design.

Responsibilities

• Design packaging from concept through production for Mattel Games brands and licensed properties.
• Develop visual storytelling that strengthens brand identity and consumer engagement.
• Create packaging and product graphics, digital assets for both retail and e-commerce.
• Partner with Marketing, Product Design, Engineering, Copywriting, and Brand teams for cohesive solutions.
• Art direct illustration, retouching, and external partners.
• Create 3D package visualizations and physical mockups to communicate design intent.
• Collaborate with global development teams to ensure design quality from concept through production.
• Stay connected to trends to inspire fresh creative solutions.
